How I Was Scammed By Craig Wright, Who is Definitely Not Satoshi Nakamoto

2024-12-03 · Ryan X. Charles

Craig Wright is definitely not Satoshi Nakamoto. This fact is obvious to almost anyone who looks into Craig’s claims. However, I actually believed Craig was Satoshi from approximately 2016 to 2020. I was very vocal about this belief. However, I was wrong, and I am now extremely confident Craig is not Satoshi.

Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto

Craig S. Wright (CSW) is definitely not Satoshi Nakamoto because he spent years provoking a court case specifically on the question of whether he is Satoshi Nakamoto or not. When the court case finally happened, not only did he fail to provide any cryptographic evidence that he is Satoshi Nakamoto, which is the only evidence anyone would believe because Satoshi is only known by his cryptographic keys, but instead he provided a bunch of other documents that were proven to be forged. The only plausible explanation for this, obviously, is that Craig Wright is not Satoshi Nakamoto. End of story.

Why I Believed Craig Wright Was Satoshi Nakamoto

In early 2016, after CSW had already scammed a bunch of people and created an entire fraudulent company, nChain, around his false claims, he performed a key signing ceremony with Gavin Andresen, Jon Matonis, and Ian Grigg. Because I was in the Bitcoin space at the time, and because I respected these three people and thought it was unlikely they would be scammed in this manner, I thought it was likely CSW was Satoshi.

For the years that followed, for reasons that are beyond the scope of this article, I became more involved with CSW, nChain, and the guy who funded him, Calvin Ayre. Along the way, CSW presented a lot of arguments about his claim to be Satoshi Nakamoto but never replicated the key signing ceremony he had performed with Gavin Andresen, Jon Matonis, and Ian Grigg. With time, it became less plausible that he was Satoshi Nakamoto.

The Damage Caused by Craig Wright

Craig Wright is not just a scammer but actually a vicious psychopath, as anyone who knows him will attest, if they are not a delusional cult member. CSW has caused enormous harm to people in the Bitcoin space, not only by vocally ridiculing them and trolling them online but most significantly by filing fraudulent lawsuits against them. Because he has been backed by the clueless billionaire Calvin Ayre, he has been able to fund lawsuit after lawsuit that are totally without merit. He has finally lost the biggest lawsuit of them all, the one on the identity question with COPA, but he has caused enormous harm to many people along the way.

Craig Wright is a true psychopath who does not care if he hurts you to get personal gain in the near-term. He even hurts himself over the long-term. This is a known trait of psychopaths.

Craig Wright should be avoided at all costs. Do not associate with Craig Wright in any way. To any of his cult members who are not fully lost, you need to get away now, or he will suck the life out of you completely on his way to prison.

My Apology

There is nothing I can do to unwind the damage caused by CSW. The only thing I can do is speak honestly that I no longer believe he is Satoshi Nakamoto. As soon as the court case with COPA ended in March 2024, and it was definitive that he was not Satoshi Nakamoto, I announced publicly, over and over, primarily on the social platform X, that I no longer believe he is Satoshi Nakamoto. Instead, it is obvious I was scammed, and I was used as a puppet to propagate his scam.

To everyone who was scammed by Craig Wright, I am truly sorry.

Conclusion

Craig Wright is definitely not Satoshi Nakamoto. The only people who continue to follow him are delusional cult members who are being psychologically manipulated. If you’re reading this, it’s important that you stay away from Craig Wright. He is a proven psychopath who only causes harm.
