Trump’s Tariffs

Trump’s tariffs are one of the biggest filters I’ve ever seen.

You want America to build stuff again and put all supply chains in America, making our country strong against competitors, and giving meaningful, high wage employment to everybody who wants a job? Hell yeah! I want to follow you!

You think America should continue subsidize the workforce of foreign nations, giving them control of critical resources and goods so that in any tense situation, they always have the upper hand, and employing their workforce instead of ours, leaving our workforce addicted to fentanyl and dependent on handouts from the state? WTF is wrong with you? Get out of my face!

“Free trade” is not really free internationally. We are being taxed and regulated by foreign nations with no representation. “Free trade” as a concept only makes sense inside a single nation state where we have uniform rules and representation for the people. That is true inside our country. That is not true country to country.

I 100% support Trump on this as I can see that this will actually make our country stronger and more prosperous. Yes, it means some cheap goods may become more expensive. But it also means some American will have a job they didn’t previously have and be able to afford the higher cost. Unquestioningly worth the trade off.
